Among numerous diets the south beach diet has recently become especially popular. The south beach diet is divided into three basic stages, each of which is characterized by the certain set of the products allowed to the use. The first stage of a diet lasts not less than 2 weeks. During the first stage the use in moderate quantities of the following south beach diet foods is allowed: seafood, meat food (the beef and veal cutting, cooked beef, boiled pork, chicken and turkey-cock white meat, dietary sausages and low-fat meat products), dairy products (low-fat cheeses ), eggs, nuts, vegetables (salads without mayonnaise, mushrooms, turnip, spinach, cucumbers, leguminous, various grades of cabbage, an asparagus, artichoke, celery, eggplants, greens), vegetative fats. Among fruits lemons without sugar and citrus juice only are permitted. It is strictly forbidden to eat fruits, the fruit and berry juices, aerated drinks, sweet tea, coffee and alcohol.

It is necessary to note, that south beach diet menus in the first stage are poor enough, though it is marked that within this period up to 7 kg of excess weight usually disappear. Careful observance of all recommendations during the first phase will help not only to be fast enough to lower everything, but also to accustom the organism to the wholesome food.

In the second phase additional south beach diet foods are being included into the south beach diet menus: vegetables (moderate quantity of potatoes and green peas), dairy products (skim or low-fat yoghurts, soya and natural low-fat milk), carbohydrates (a small amount of whole-grain bread, rice and macaroni, bread rye and grain, oat natural porridge), fruits (plums, grapes, apples, peaches, mango, oranges, bilberry, cherry, apricots, various dried fruits). From delicacies in small amounts bitter chocolate and red wine are permitted. As a whole, the second phase passes easily enough as to allowable products of the first stage products of the second stage are added, thus south beach diet menus turn out to be various enough. The duration of the second stage of a diet practically is not limited, as an ultimate goal of the given stage is to lower weight to a required mark.

The basic purpose of the third stage of south beach diet is the maintenance of the achieved result. The third stage of a diet should become a way of life, as only by adhering recommended south beach diet menus it is possible to keep the received result. At the third stage of a diet all products are allowed practically, except for white rice, plenty of a potatoes, chips, sweets and beer.

In order evidently to show one of the recommended south beach diet menus it is possible to follow an example of the daily menu: for breakfast you should have a fresh orange, tea without sugar with low-fat milk and a porridge; for dinner it is possible to allow a meat salad from low-fat meat, and supper can be submitted by a low-fat fish with vegetables and the salad flavoured with vegetable oil.

Between the basic receptions of food it is permitted to eat an egg, a slice of cheese, an apple, a pear or a bunch of grapes.
